MMSD announces $13M clean water lab in Oak Creek
A $13 million research lab is planned for a wastewater treatment facility in Oak Creek. The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District on Monday announced plans for a clean water lab to test new technology. Officials said the first lab test could lead to $90 million in energy savings over 20 years, reduced sewer overflows and better filtration.

MILWAUKEE – Many restaurants and bars didn’t reap the economic benefits of the Republican National Convention. “There were (restaurants) staffed up, were open, and no one was there,” said Kristine Hillmer, CEO of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. “They had expenses, labor, supplies, in their facility. But we do know one of the reasons why we wanted the RNC to come here was for future long game.”

Lawyer to Committee: Lift Unfair Restrictions That Forced Dave’s Who’s Inn to Close the Doors
Restrictions imposed by the City of Sheboygan on a well-known tavern will be discussed in committee after being labeled unfair and vague by its lawyer. Attorney Richard Hahn of Holden & Hahn law firm says that requirements to prohibit minors from the property and to use a scanner and metal detector on clients in order to maintain the Class-B liquor license for Dave’s Who’s Inn are conditions no other tavern is required to meet, and that the reasons for imposing them are vague and unfair.
