Iowa State Fair Saying Goodbye to Popular Fair Stand
Iowa has one of the best state fairs in the country as thousands of people from around the state plan a state fair trip. Some people plan to enjoy the fair for an afternoon and others plan to enjoy the fair for multiple days in a row. This year there will be over 80 new foods for you to try at the fair so be sure to show up hungry and ready to try as many different foods as possible.
Fareway still planning second Waukee store, but hasn't set a construction date
Fareway still plans to build a second location in northwest Waukee but the supermarket chain does not yet know when. Fareway currently has a store at 200 S.E. Laurel St. in Waukee. The company also owns more than 7 acres on adjoining parcels about 2 miles away at the southwest corner of Northwest Sunrise Drive and Northwest 10th Street, according to Dallas County property records.
Winterset friends team up to generously tip restaurant workers

A West Des Moines woman was arrested early Friday after she allegedly brandished a kitchen knife in the course of a domestic dispute. Christina Coronado, 38, of 7255 Lake Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-display or use a weapon and two counts of child endangerment.
