JERSEYVILLE, Ill. — The Jersey County Sheriff's Office is calling their dispatchers unsung heroes, after flash flooding hit the bi-state on July 16. SLPS to discuss change in tax rate amid budget challenges
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Tuesday, the St. Louis Public School Board will discuss a possible change to their tax rate as the district faces a budget shortfall. The board will talk about discontinuing a rollback of their tax rate after the district limited taxes in 2022. Currently, the tax rate is $4.05 per $100 of assessed property, which is lower than the maximum the district could tax. The rate was dropped slightly to help families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The board is looking at establishing the maximum tax rate allowed, which is $4,25 per $100 of assessed property.
