For the second time in less than a week, South Carolina law enforcement officials are investigating a shooting involving Easley Police.

According to Easley Police Department Lt. Ashley Anderson, at least one officer fired a weapon Saturday at Daniel Scott McGoldrick, 35, during a domestic violence call. The caller reported a man had shoved a woman to the ground causing her to hit her head.

Officers arrived at the home in the 100 block of Scott Avenue at about 1:30 p.m., according to Anderson, and saw a woman and child standing outside of the home while McGoldrick re-entered the residence.

According to Anderson, officers asked McGoldrick to come outside, but he refused and opened the door, pointing a firearm. At least one EPD officer fired at McGoldrick.

Police did not identify the woman nor explain the relationship to McGoldrick.

The Pickens County coroner reported McGoldrick's time of death as 2:14 p.m.

Anderson said all the officers are on paid administrative leave but did not say how many officers were involved. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has taken over the shooting investigation.

The shooting is the second involving the Easley PD . On July 9, officers shot and killed Nicholas Elias Fernandez, 26, of Greer. According to Anderson, Fernandez made threats to a Tractor Supply store manager and charged at officers with an ax.
