The Forbush Falcons Varsity baseball team claimed and 11-1 win over North Surry in a home game March 19. The JV team won 14-3.

On March 20, the Falcons took on local rival Starmount where both the Varsity and JV teams won. The final score was 11-0 for the Varsity team and 10-1 for the JV team.

On March 21 the Varsity team lost to North Surry in Mount Airy with a final score of 2-3. The JV team won its game 7-5.

“Everyone just saw a great baseball game,” said North Surry coach Daryll Johnson. “Hats off to Forbush because they’re a dang good baseball team. We made the plays tonight, and that was the difference in the game. It was a total team effort too: in the field, at the plate, in the dugout and on the mound. They wanted to win tonight and went out there and earned it.”

The Greyhounds’ March 21 victory broke the Falcons’ seven-game winning streak and handed the visitors just their second loss of the season. The Falcons (7-2) entered Thursday’s game having won its last three games by at least nine runs, and one of those wins came against the Hounds.

Both the Varsity and JV teams were in the win column Monday with a 6-0 win for Varsity and 5-4 JV in a home game against North Iredell.

The Varsity overall record is 8-2, conference record is 3-1, and JV is 8-1, conference record is 4-0.

The Falcons were slated to take on Surry Central on Tuesday, away, and again at home on Friday.
