Several local pairs earn top finishes at state golf amateur mixed team championships
STAFFORD — Kevin and Lisa Webb of Clifton Springs Country Club won the New York State mixed team golf senior title after five playoff holes at Stafford Country Club on Monday. They beat three other pairs in the playoff, including Meredith Hobika of Yahnundasis Golf Club and Luke Hobika of Drumlins Golf Club. Local players Pennie and Jeff Carlo claimed the net title in the senior field.

A fungus that was first found in Wisconsin is now threatening trees in New York State. The New York State DEC wants New Yorkers to check on oak trees. "Be on the lookout for oak wilt throughout NYS! Prosecutors allege that De’Lenci Shannon-Brown, 28, who was working as an assistant district attorney for the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, electronically shared information about cases with others.
