Several cities announce changes to garbage pick-up due to holiday
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Due to the Independence Day holiday, several area cities have announced changes for residents whose normal garbage collection day is on Thursday. In Mobile, trash and garbage pickup will not run on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The makeup day for garbage is Saturday, July 6. There is no makeup day for trash.
Orange Beach case showcases new Alabama law for fentanyl distribution
BALDWIN COUNTY, Fla. -- Four people were arrested Saturday and are facing up to 20 years in prison for the distribution of a fatal dose of fentanyl in Orange Beach. The Baldwin County Drug Task Force performed a traffic stop on the four suspects and deputies found fentanyl in the car.

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - We’re tracking Hurricane Beryl as it moves across the eastern Caribbean. By tomorrow it is expected to make landfall in Jamaica as a major hurricane. This storm is expected to weaken due to wind shear as it heads towards the Yucatan Peninsula late in the week. After hitting the Yucatan, it will move into the southwest Gulf and the steering currents will likely allow a turn to the north. Folks on the Texas coastline will need to closely monitor this turn.
