Illinois man learns sentence after he 'executed' his wife in front of family members
KANE COUNTY, Ill. - An Illinois man was sentenced to natural life in prison this week for murdering his wife in front of family members in 2022. Timothy Gordon, 48, of Montgomery, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the first-degree murder of his wife. Because Gordon used a firearm to carry out the murder, he faced an additional sentence of anywhere between 25 years to natural life in prison without parole.

(The Center Square) – A coalition of consumer and environmental organizations have announced a grassroots campaign to raise awareness of the Illinois Commerce Commission investigation into an Illinois Utility’s pipe replacement program. The campaign follows a $300 million rate hike that Peoples Gas won last year, which was the largest in state history. The hike was fueled mainly by the company's Safety Modernization Program to replace nearly 2,000 miles of old, deteriorating natural gas pipes. ...
