Cincinnati shelters hit record high amount of pets at facilities, offer free adoptions
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Workers at Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society said they have more dogs and cats at their facilities since opening four years ago. Across its two locations at Colerain and Dane Avenue, along with its foster homes, the shelter has more than 800 animals up for adoption. 200 dogs are at the Colerain facility alone.

WTRE Farmer of the Day
WTRE Celebrated the “Farmer of the Day” this year at the Decatur County Fair. Kylie Huber Olsen, a 3rd generation farmer, from the St. Paul area, is our Farmer of the Day. Kylie and her husband Justin and 2 daughters – Sadie and Nora, continue to raise cow/calves at their home and Kylie also works with her parents on their farm, also with cow/calf pairs. Kylie grew up on a Dairy farm that began with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Huber and followed suit with parents Brian and Shirley Huber, who recently retired their dairy herd. Kylie and her siblings all spent time at the barn and continue, along with the grandkids, to be a part of the daily landscape at the farm. Kylie is also a Vet Tech, with several years experience, and is currently enjoying being a stay at home Mom and working with her family.

OUTAGES ACROSS THE COUNTRY AFFECT WHITEWATER VALLEY
There is developing overnight national and international news that is affecting us here in the Whitewater Valley. There have been IT outages across the country that are affecting airports, banks, and some 911 services. It appears to be connected to Microsoft. At 4:30 this morning, Union County dispatchers indicated that both their 911 and non-emergency lines are down. Butler County is reporting similar 911 outages. There have also been reports of bank cards not working. There are also major affects at airports across the country, including at our two closest. Major air carriers have asked the FAA for a global ground stop on all flights. Our two closest airports air having issues. In Dayton, some flight statuses are now listed as either unknown or delayed. At Cincinnati, outbound travelers are not able to check in for their flights. National security officials are saying all of the issues are not the result of a cyber attack, but are pointing the finger at a computer glitch by the firm Crowdstrike.
