SALISBURY — There were seven residential sales recorded in June in Salisbury. Five of these sales sold for less than the listing price indicating either a softening market or over pricing by owners. Currently there are 20 houses listed on the MLS with 13 over a million dollars, and five over $4 million. For the 12 months ending in June the median price of a single family residence was $865,000.
Six Lakes Park’s Future Sought
Trails for wheelchairs and strollers. A pavilion for events and education programs. Kayaking and fishing. All these ideas and more emerged from a meeting at Thornton Wilder Hall at Miller Library in Hamden, held by Six Lakes Park Coalition, as the coalition invited the public to submit input on what a future state park in the middle of Hamden might look like, and how it might best serve the community around it.
Molloy School to become community center
With representatives from various groups from teens to seniors, Mayor Dorinda Borer announced Anna V. Malloy School on Meloy Road will be transformed into a multi-purpose community center, putting under one roof the many disparate programs offered to city residents. The school, closed since 2010, will have some modifications to the current structure and the addition of a gymnasium.
