Alex Mill Bringing Its Casual, Wardrobe Essentials to the Hamptons With Another Pop-up

Alex Mill is popping up again in the Hamptons, this time with a 600-square-foot temporary shop in the village of East Hampton.

“You couldn’t ask for a better demographic,” said Mickey Drexler, chairman of Alex Mill, the collection of classic, casual styles and wardrobe essentials. “There are more fashionistas per square foot in East Hampton than arguably any other place in the U.S. in the summer. East Hampton has become a high-end shopping mall.”

The Alex Mill pop-up in East Hampton will open for business this weekend at 60 Park Place, which faces the parking lot in the heart of the village. It follows the three-day, 500-square-foot Alex Mill pop-up, which was situated at SoulCycle in Bridgehampton in early July.

Aside from the appeal of East Hampton, Drexler was motivated to open a second pop-up this summer based on the experience at SoulCycle. “We are dancing on the walls with the stunning results there,” he said. In East Hampton, the assortment is highly edited and also offers a monogrammed tote, in collaboration with The Monogram Shop, also in East Hampton.

A next step would be to open a permanent, year-round store in the Hamptons . Drexler is considering the possibility, but he noted, “That’s not easy. The real estate is limited and the peak business is June through September.”

Ultimately, Drexler added, “We would like Alex Mill to be more of a household name brand.”
