Alec Baldwin returned to entertainment following the conclusion of the Rust trial .

The actor walked a red carpet at Hamptons International Film Festival's SummerDocs series in East Hampton for a screening of War Game. Alec is not a part of the cast of the movie, but was there to support the production. He wore a light-blue button-down under a darker hue blazer. He kept it casual by ditching a tie, but wearing a pair of gray slacks. The 30 Rock lead also sported a pair of loafers.

He wrapped an arm around his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, as they struck a pose for the camera. She donned a long, Barbie pink dress with a cheeky slit up the back. She paired the look with sparkly, nude pumps and a handful of various rings. Hilaria wore her brunette hair down.

His wife was previously with him in the New Mexico courtroom for support as prosecutors attempted to hold Alec accountable for the Rust shooting incident where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins lost her life. Alec argued that he was unaware that the gun was loaded and that he did not pull the trigger.

Regardless, the defense's argument became irrelevant as the judge decided to dismiss the charges with prejudice, freeing Alec from a potential felony conviction for manslaughter. After three days of the trial, his defense flagged a concern and alleged that crucial evidence was withheld by the prosecution. His lawyer, Luke Nikas, petitioned for the case to be dropped, alleging prosecutorial misconduct of burying evidence illustrating how live ammunition ended up on the film set.

Judge Sommer heard arguments from both parties and the prosecutor even admitted to the court it was her first time seeing the evidence, too. The judge decided: "The late discovery of this evidence during trial has impeded the effective use of evidence in such a way that it has impacted the fundamental fairness of the proceedings."

Taking to social media after his charge of involuntary manslaughter was dismissed, he shared: "There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now. To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family."
