Bullpen Blows It In the Burgh
The MLB All-Star break is officially over. The second half of the 2024 MLB season is underway, with the Phillies heading to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. The Phillies open the second half of the season after setting a franchise record with 62 wins before the All-Star break. It was previously 57 in 2011 and 1993. The Phillies became only the 10th MLB team in history with 62+ wins before the break and only the fourth National League to do so. They do not add another “W” to the win column tonight. The pitching was not good, especially the back. The bullpen blows it in the burgh on Friday night.
Trafford crushes unbeaten Saint Marys at Junior American Legion regional
Trafford extended its winning streak to 16 games by handing Saint Marys its first loss of the season in the Junior American Legion Western Regional on Friday at Homer City. After spotting Saint Marys an early lead, Trafford brought out the bats and rolled to a 15-2 victory in a game stopped in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.

Man found unresponsive after motorcycle crash on Mt. Washington
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - One person is dead after a motorcycle crash on Route 51 on Friday night. According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, around 8:30 p.m. on Friday night, they, along with fire and EMS, were called to Route 51 between Woodruff Street and Crane Avenue for a reported motorcycle crash. Once they arrived on the scene, they found a motorcycle rider down and unresponsive on the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the man is approximately 20 years old and he was traveling outbound on Route 51 when he lost control of the bike and crashed. Officers interviewed several witnesses and it's believed speed is a factor in the crash. Pittsburgh police's collision investigation unit is working to determine the cause of the crash.
