The first time my family walked into a Ponderosa Steakhouse was in the late 1960s. It was new and the experience was great. Like other new restaurants, if the management doesn't stay on top, the quality of service can decline. The location we went to did change through the years, but in the beginning, it was great.

The Wisconsin Badgers hockey program has a long history of producing NHL players. Twelve of the 26 players on UW’s 2023-24 roster were NHL Draft picks. This past season, 14 former Badgers played in the NHL, with nine advancing to the Stanley Cup playoffs. Now, one of those nine is extending his pro career to a 14th season with a new team. The deal may result in him suiting up for a game in Wisconsin.

There were 225 of the best young hockey players in the world taken in the 2024 NHL Draft between June 28-29 at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The first player in the draft was Macklin Celebrini of Boston University who was the overall No. 1 prospect in the class. Celebrini’s selection wasn’t surprising, but the rest of the first round was full of head-turning picks. After the first 32 selections, the rest of the draft began on June 29 with the remaining selections.
