Bingham woman in Somerset County crash in ‘critical’ condition; baby suffers leg injuries
A man and woman seriously injured in a head-on crash Saturday in Concord remained Tuesday at a Bangor hospital, with the woman listed in critical condition, officials said. Kennedy Humphrey, 18, of Bingham was a passenger in a 2007 Nissan Altima being driven north at about 1 p.m. on Kennebec River Road by Adrean Yates, 27, also of Bingham, when the car collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck being driven south by Kade Tibbetts, 25, of Embden, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

MONSON — The Tree Talk art exhibition developed from a conversation Jemma Gascoine had with Mike Decker, Monson Arts education officer, when Monson Pottery/Gascoine Gallery was hosting the November 2023 Artist Meet n’ Greet. The Meet n’ Greet is an event hosted by local businesses to welcome the 10 artists juried into Monson Arts International Artist Residency Program. Both Mike and Gascoine agreed that they wouldn’t want to live in a place without many trees – about 90 percent of Maine is forested, the highest percentage of any state.

GUILFORD — The 2024 class of the Piscataquis Community High School Athletic Hall of Fame has been announced. A Monday, July 8 post on the district Facebook page says this year’s inductees are Bryce Gilbert, Karen Hersey Ward, Merle Gilbert, Tom Cyr, and the 1992 Class C champion field hockey team.

Guilford hosts Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall
GUILFORD — For more than four days the town of Guilford is hosting the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall. The three-fifths replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. with more than 58,300 names opened to the public from the evening of Tuesday, July 2 and will be open through Saturday, July 6 on the dirt road behind the athletic fields near the Piscataquis River.

PLYMOUTH TWP. — A change in plans is underway for ongoing construction in both directions of the M-14/Interstate 96 project between Sheldon and Newburgh roads. WATERVILLE/GUILFORD -- Around 100 veterans and supporters alike fell in line and rode together to escort the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall from Waterville to Guilford.
