Cumberland County teacher named an MLB All-Star Game ballboy

EAST PENNSBORO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – A local teacher will serve as a ballboy during the MLB All-Star Game in Texas.

East Pennsboro Area School District says Tyler Smith, an ILE at East Pennsboro Elementary School, has been a ballboy for the Baltimore Orioles for four years. He was part of a nationwide voting contest and was named to the MLB All-Star Ball Crew.

“Mr. Smith said he is proud to demonstrate the vision of EPASD in that “our faculty strives to be a source of pride and a cornerstone of our community — even in the summer!”,” said the district.

The MLB All-Star Game will be in Arlington, Texas at Globe Life Field, home of the reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers, on July 16.
