Discount specialty store to expand in Illinois with locations in East Peoria, Pekin

The specialty discount store chain Five Below is continuing to expand its presence in the greater Peoria area with a new location in East Peoria. The new store will be at 451 N. Main Street, near Kohl's.

“Stores like Five Below are in high demand by consumers,” said Ty Livingston, City of East Peoria director of planning and development. “While most retail is retracting and moving more operations online, price-conscience consumers are looking for new and affordable options for in-person shopping.”

Livingston added that construction on the new store could begin as early as this summer and open by the end of 2024. In addition to the East Peoria store, Five Below is opening a new location in Pekin’s East Court Village next fall.

There is one Five Below store already in Peoria, located next to Barnes and Noble in the Glen Hollow Shopping Center at 5001 N Big Hollow Rd.
