Bellville, IL – Longtime Steelworkers leader and union activist David Dowling has died, leaving family, friends and fellow Steelworkers mourning in the Metro East. Dowling, 75, of Belleville, died on June 24, only six weeks after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Born in South Dakota, Dowling was a Labor union activist for more than 50 years.
