New Sentencing Hearing for Convicted Gladewater Killer

Thirty-three-year-old Coby Ray Hudgins of Gladewater was convicted of first-degree murder in 2015 after he shot a woman to death in 2013. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison in 2015, and in January of 2018, he filed an appeal of the sentence. In June, the Texas Criminal Court of Appeals announced that Hudgins will be receiving a new sentencing trial in the case. He is scheduled to appear in Gregg County before District Judge Alfonso Charles on Friday at 9:30 for a criminal status docket
