Upshur County Man Sentenced On Drugs, Weapons Charges

A 55-year-old New Diana man has been sentenced in Upshur County District Court for manufacture and delivery of  methamphetamine with intent to distribute it. Harrell Johnson of Gladewater was arrested last August after a traffic stop by a State Trooper, who found him to be in possession of 17 grams of the narcotics. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.  He was sentenced to 35 years in prison on both charges, with the sentences to run concurrently.
