Hopkins County Commissioners Hold Work Session With Wind Farm Operators

The Hopkins County Commissioners Court held a work session wit Callie Chaplain, the Development Manager for Apex Clean Energy. More than a hundred people were at the meeting as Chaplain explained about the proposed wind farm in the western part of Hopkins County. A large majority of those in attendance spoke against the project, which according to officials is a done deal, except for the matter of the tax abatement. The wind farm is planned for between 7,000 and14,000 acres on the west side of the county.
