    Paris Police Report For Tuesday, August 3

    Last Friday, August 30, at 9:02 am, a Paris Officer met a victim in the 1500 block of Lamar Avenue and took a report of Felony-Assault Family-Household Member Previous Convictions. The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend grabbed her around her neck and shoved her against a wall. Police observed marks on the victim’s neck.

    There was a report of a Fraud Friday evening at 6:54 in the 900 block of West Cherry Street. A Paris Officer spoke with a witness by telephone, who said her husband had recently lost his wallet. Today, he received a call from their bank advising that someone was using their AVANT credit card and had made several transactions.

    Friday night at 10:03, a Paris Officer observed a known subject with an active warrant sitting in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue. They took Buddy Tylor Parnell, 32, of Detroit, into custody for a Felony Parole Violation Warrant-Carrying Prohibited Weapon. Parnell was transported and booked into the Paris Jail.

    Friday night at 10:57, a traffic stop was conducted on a Toyota Camry in the 300 Block of Graham Street for a non-functioning brake light. They booked the driver, Carla Michelle Mason, 57, after locating paraphernalia and cocaine in Mason’s purse. They booked her for State Jail Felony-Possession of a Controlled SubstanceCocaine. Officers arrested a rear-seat passenger for Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a Class A Misdemeanor, for possessing a prescription container of Bumetanide pills not prescribed to him.

    At 8:38 Saturday morning, a Paris Officer took a report of a Felony-Burglary of Building and Class A-Burglary of a Vehicle in the 600 block of East Price Street. Missing were several boxes of clothing, a tattoo gun, Micheal Kors’ purse, and miscellaneous items from a residence and a vehicle. The offense was reduced from Burglary of a Habitation to Burglary of a Building due to the current unlivable conditions and the unsecured state of the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

    Saturday evening at 6:35, police received a report of a Felony-Burglary of Habitation in the 100 block of SW 7th Street. The victim stated he heard a noise from a neighboring apartment that he was overseeing and walked to his back door but could not see anyone. He then said he opened his screen door, and at the same time, a 15–16-year-old black male “bum-rushed him” while possessing a handgun. He grabbed the male and the gun at the same time. The subject stated that he did not have the clip in the firearm, to let him go, and please don’t shoot. The victim said the male dropped the gun, and he pushed the suspect out of the door, and the subject fled from the scene. No one had reported the gun stolen, and they placed it in Police Evidence, and the investigation continues.

    Saturday night at 10:27, police received a suspicious person call in the 3000 block of Lamar Avenue. A subject described as wearing all black was attempting to break into an apartment through a patio door. Paris Officers found someone had removed a screen from a locked window. Officers contacted the apartment owner by telephone, who advised that she was out of town but would have a friend bring over a key. Inside, police found Austin Lee Doyal, 25, of Lamar County, and Qualen Dejuane Bell, 22, of Granbury. Doyal was an ex-boyfriend of the apartment owner. She had recently reported incidents of Doyal assaulting her and placing a tracking device on her vehicle, leaving her in fear of further violence/harassment. Police arrested Doyal and Bell for Felony Burglary of Habitation and Doyal for Felony-Stalking.

    Paris Officer responded to an Emergency Health Center on Saturday at 11:37 pm in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286 for an assault call and took a Felony-Aggravated Assault Date-FamilyHouse with Weapon Report. The officer did not observe any visible injuries to the victim. Multiple individuals gave statements of events of what happened relating to the victim allegedly being hit by a vehicle to be further investigated.

    On Sunday morning at 10:01, a Felony-Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon report was taken in the 2100 block of Bella Vista Drive for further investigation after a disturbance occurred between a mother and a daughter, involving a knife pulled.

    Monday, at 10:07 am, board members of an organization in the 500 block of Lamar Avenue spoke with a Paris Officer about a “Felony-Fraud Finance Statement Forged” relating to over $16,000 being stolen by three employees either filing overtime while on a salary payroll, clocking into work. At the same time, they are not actually at work or double-cashing checks. The investigation is ongoing.

    At 1:48 Monday afternoon, police took a Felony Credit or Debit Card Abuse report in the 1500 block of Clarksville Street. It was after a victim reported that someone had taken her Samsung Galaxy A15 and that money transaction receipts sent through Cash App had occurred. Police received video footage for review.

    Monday night at 10:20, officers worked an accident in the 2200 block of NE Loop 286. A driver of a Hyundai Sonata was traveling westbound and collided with two black cows. Both cows were from the Cattlemen’s sale barn and killed on impact. The driver was transported to Paris Regional Health by Paris EMS for neck and back pain.

    Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2, 2024, the Paris Police Department responded to 275 calls for service, arrested 10 adults, and initiated 70 Traffic Stops.
