Investigation Underway In Overdose Death of 16-Year-Old Girl

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Press Release: On July 17th 2024, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office began a death investigation pertaining to an overdose of a 16-year-old female. An autopsy and toxicology were requested as part of the investigation. The toxicology report showed a newer synthetic drug found in her blood stream called N-Pyrrolidino Protonitazene. This drug is 25 times more potent than fentanyl. During the investigation, we were able to determine the identity of the person who supplied the victim with the pills that ultimately took her life, at this time 3 suspects have been identified and the investigation is still ongoing.
