On Tuesday, officers arrested Ja Tyreous Damon Dabbs, 27, on an outstanding warrant for Burglary of Habitation and Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant stemmed from an incident occurring on September 20 in which authorities accused Dabbs and others of entering a residence without permission, assaulting the occupant, and then firing several shots at the residents and home. Police arrested him without incident in the 3100 block of NE Loop 286.

Officers received a report Tuesday of a Vehicle Burglary in the 2700 block of Oak Creek Dr. Suspects entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a 9mm handgun from the glove box. Officers conducted security checks around 2:00 am after witnesses saw three males wandering the neighborhood and entering residents’ driveways and yards. Police did not locate the suspicious persons, collected evidence, and warned residents to lock their vehicles and secure valuables.

For this reporting period, officers made four traffic stops, arrested one adult, and answered 84 calls for service.

They shouldn't be in unlocked cars, but, the underlying problem, I feel, is the roving groups of thieves casing neighborhoods and vehicles, invading property and stealing in the first place, and nothing being done about it.
