Drone Used To Smuggle Contraband At Federal Prison

A car with two people was stopped not too far from the federal prison in Beaumont and police found methadone and a drone. The two were planning to make a drop behind the prison. Captain Crystal Holmes with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says pair also had narcan, a laptop, tablets, half a dozen cell phones, pre-paid cash cards, headphones and two tracking devices She says they catch people doing this two to three times a month. She says they even intercepted some people dropping off barbecue and liquor. The couple is jailed on drug charges.
