Thanks to Dedicated Volunteers, Historic Carousel at Pottstown Back in Action
A Pottstown historic carousel is once again up and running after a decades-long hiatus thanks to the dedication of a group of committed volunteers, reports Todd Haas for 6abc. “It’s a work of art, really,” said State Rep. Joe Ciresi. “If you just come in, if you don’t want to ride it, just look at it. It’s unbelievable how beautiful it is. And to know the people volunteered to restore it.”
Burpee Open at Fordhook Farm will take guests behind-the-scenes
Burpee, one of the most well-known gardening brands in the U.S., will host its annual Burpee Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27. The free event rooted in a rich tradition that dates back to the 1800s will take place at Burpee’s Fordhook Farm, 105 New Britain Road, Doylestown, and will feature self-guided garden tours to give guests a behind-the-scenes peek into the magic of Burpee’s gardens.
