Eastaboga, AL – This past weekend, the second annual Wounded Warrior Alabama Bulls and Broncos Rodeo took place at Combat Park in Eastaboga, Alabama, drawing a crowd eager for excitement and community spirit.

The atmosphere was electric as participants showcased their skills in various events. The bull riding segment was particularly intense, with cowboys holding on for dear life to 2000-pound bulls, aiming for the coveted eight-second mark.

The rodeo also featured ranch events, including saddle bronc riding, goat tying, dummy roping, and bareback riding. One cowboy, Max, managed to impress the crowd with his bareback skills, drawing cheers as he expertly handled his ride.

We had the chance to speak with Paul and Max about what riding in rodeos has taught them. Their answer was simple yet profound: “Be tough. Be great.”

The young ladies of the rodeo also shared their experiences. They participated in events such as barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying. One standout was the Rockin’ 5L’s Rodeo Queen, who spoke passionately about representing the sport and carrying “Old Glory” with pride. Another was the Rockin’ 5L Princess, who carries the Christian flag and represents the Rodeo Association with honor.

The Wounded Warrior program, which the rodeo supports, plays a crucial role in the community. The program assists local veterans and active-duty service members with various needs, from building wheelchair ramps to helping with groceries and home repairs. Impressively, 87% of the proceeds stay in Alabama, directly benefiting local warriors.

For those who missed the event, there’s no need to worry. More rodeos are scheduled in nearby areas, promising plenty of opportunities to enjoy the thrilling sport and support a great cause.

Stay tuned for more information on upcoming rodeos and events, and perhaps next time, you’ll be part of the action!
