EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Recent contestant on “the Voice” and Westfield-native Madison Curbelo performed live Saturday night in Easthampton.

Curbelo recently concluded an electrifying run on NBC’s “The Voice” where the talented young singer-songwriter finished in the top nine.

Her powerful performances on ‘The Voice’ captivated millions, and on Saturday evening she returned home for her first local performance since being on the show at the CitySpace Blue Room in Easthampton.

“It’s been amazing since being on the show,” Madison said. “I’ve just learned so much about myself and the music I want to make… and it’s just something that I’ve always wanted to do is headline a show so close to my hometown. So the fact that people actually showed up is so amazing, and I’m just so grateful.”

The national TV star featured some of her originals, her signature acoustic pop covers, and her new dynamic backing band in front of an enthusiastic crowd. And for Curbelo, being able to perform so close to home means being able to sing in front of the many young ones who look up to her.

“I’ve already had like a few little kids come up to me already and they’re like ‘We’re so excited for the show, we loved your voice, we want to sing like you one day.’ And that just means the world to me cause that’s always what I wanted and to just be a role model for some people, and to be able to sing especially for young people, so it just means everything it’s amazing.”

One of Madison’s biggest fans told 22News just that. Adding they want to sing just like her.

“Yes! Cause she teaches me how to be confident,” said Audrey of Chicopee.

One of the songs Curbelo sang Saturday night was the exact song she impressed all four judges on “the Voice” with, Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
