Caribbean Jerk Fest At Seaside Park On Saturday
The West Indian American Association of Greater Bridgeport, Inc. will hold its 16th Annual Caribbean Jerk Festival on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Seaside Park Bandshell in Bridgeport, CT from 12 to 8 p.m. It is a free family-friendly event including face painting, touch-a-truck and bounce house for children. Vendors will be on hand selling Caribbean food such as jerk chicken, jerk pork, and curry goat. Merchandise vendors will sell clothing, jewelry, facial and body products, and other items.
One of City's Oldest Parks Getting Massive Makeover with Work Set to be Finished in Month of September
A major makeover of one of the city’s oldest recreational venues is in full swing and should be complete before the end of summer. According to Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Director Joe Shuttleworth, several major projects at Compton Park are progressing nicely, and some are complete. The Maritime Aquarium is celebrating its newest arrival: a 10-year-old male golden lion tamarin named Harley, who has relocated from Zoo Atlanta.
