USM extends grace period, adds payment kiosks after automated parking complaints
GORHAM (WGME) -- The University of Southern Maine has made some tweaks to its automated parking systems in Gorham and Portland after parent and student complaints. The system, which went live last year, uses a combination of cameras and artificial intelligence to track license plates coming and going from campus parking lots.
Three People Injured after Head-On Crash with Ambulance in Maine
Three people were injured Friday after a head-on collision involving an ambulance and another vehicle in Oxford. The crash happened at the intersection of Main Street and Industrial Road. Man Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison for Attempted Murder in Maine
A 35-year-old man will spend 18 years in prison for trying to strangle and kill the mother of his children and assaulting an officer in Waterville. Irineu Goncalves from Revere, Massachusetts was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years with all but 18 years suspended for Attempted Murder, Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening and Assault on an Officer.

Presque Isle City Council tables flag ordinance, moves to discuss at future date
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - The Presque Isle City Council has tabled the ordinance about flying flags until they can workshop the ordinance at a later date. At a council meeting Wednesday night, there was a public hearing held to discuss the Proclamation, Key to the City, Flag Display, and Ceremonial Guidelines Ordinance. The ordinance draft would allow people and groups to apply for a flag to be flown at the city’s flagpole at Riverside Park, pending approval of the city manager.
