Police arrived at Fistler’s home in Casco to find him holding a firearm. He and his father entered the house and refused to leave, according to prosecutors. St. Clair County SWAT had to resort to deploying gas cartridges into the home,  forcing the father and son to exit. Officers arrested them.

According to prosecutors, further investigation revealed that Derek Morris had stored the vehicle used during the drive-by shooting at the home of his mother; Jaraldine Morris, 81. Investigators learned that Morris had made the request of his mother to store the evidence during a jailhouse call.
