Another 2024 Fossil Ridge High School grad earns National Merit Scholarship
A sixth 2024 graduate of Fossil Ridge High School was awarded a National Merit Scholarship this week. Gavin Payne joined five classmates in receiving one of the highly competitive scholarships with his selection as a recipient of a college-sponsored scholarship from Purdue University, where he plans to study engineering, according to a news release from the National Merit Scholarship program.

$5 Million Dollar Bail Set For Suspect In 2023 Loveland Shooting
$5 million cash-only bail has been set for 17 year old Oscar Perez Jr. of Greeley, for his alleged involvement in the early 2023 Brookstone Apartments shooting. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, a judge ruled earlier this month that the teenager will be charged as an adult following a three-day transfer hearing in late June. Perez faces 15 total charges for his alleged connection to the 2023 shooting that killed 18-year-old Nasier Graham in a car-jacking in the parking lot of Brookstone Apartments and injured then-16-year-old Gabriel Ballesteros after crashing Graham’s stolen car within the complex.
