JetBlue sues Florida Department of Revenue
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - JetBlue Airways is suing the Florida Department of Revenue, according to court records. The major airline filed the suit in Leon County civil court seven days ago. JetBlue is accusing Florida of wrongfully assessing that JetBlue owed an additional $631,000 for corporate income taxes from 2019 to 2021, according to documents obtained by WCTV. In the filing, JetBlue alleges that the state calculated the tax based on a geographical area that extends farther than Florida’s actual borders.

Leesburg man flips pickup truck after drinking at local saloon
A Leesburg man was arrested for DUI after flipping a pickup truck on the way home from drinking Twisted Tea at the Dirty South Saloon. Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on the right side of the roadway in the northbound lane on U.S. Highway 441 around 2:03 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Officers observed a black Dodge pickup truck found upside down with the cab of the truck crushed. The two occupants, one of which was later identified as 33-year-old Bradley Allen Vordemark, had already exited the vehicle and were walking around with no apparent injuries.

A mother took her son to the Summerfield ER after he claimed he was shot. Marion County sheriff’s deputies went to the emergency room on Thursday where they interviewed the mother of 27-year-old Hunter Gough of Summerfield. The mother said she’d found her son “in the middle of the Lake Weir Subdivision covered in blood.” She drove him to the emergency room.
