Saxonburg’s new K-9 sworn in
For the first time in more than a decade, a K-9 is patrolling the streets of Saxonburg. Bolt, a German shepard, previously worked with officer Mark Heider in Middlesex. Allegheny Sprint Tour 305 Sprint Cars substituted for the Peoples Natural Gas 410 Sprint Cars after they ran on Tuesday night against the High Limit Racing series for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. The BRP Modified Tour made their second and final appearance. Honoring hero, Corey Comperatore, with a video and a moment of silence before opening ceremonies. We also saluted the Buffalo Township Fire and Safety Team by going 4 wide before each feature as the safety vehicles and the #1 Cochran Ford pace truck led the field around the Action Track.
Activities Planned At Moraine State Park
It’s a great weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities at Moraine State Park. First, a Star Party is planned for Saturday night from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Beach Area on the North Shore of Moraine. Volunteers from the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will bring their privately owned telescopes to help participants learn how to spot a few planets and constellations. Those planning to attend should bring a lawn chair or blanket as well as bug spray. No smoking, flashlights, light-up toys, or cell phones at this free event.

Local lawmaker makes second attempt to rename Mosquito Lake State Park
BAZETTA TOWNSHIP Ohio (WKBN) – A local lawmaker is trying again to rename Mosquito Lake State Park to Donald J. Trump State Park. State Rep. Mike Loychik, R-65th District, said Friday he will soon introduce legislation to rename the park, spurred in part by the assassination attempt on Trump during a rally earlier this month in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Renovations celebrated at Seven Fields pool
SEVEN FIELDS — A project three years in the making has been completed at the Seven Fields Town Park Pool, 390 Castle Creek Drive. The renovation project started in 2022, borough manager Tom Smith said, with phase one and two of the project completed in 2023 and phase three finished on June 10, when the pool reopened.
