Committee supports hospital feasibility study
CHIPPEWA FALLS — The Chippewa County Executive Committee has endorsed a plan to spend $70,000 toward a feasibility study on building a new hospital. Colfax Public Library receives $5000 to relaunch 1000 books before kindergarten
COLFAX— The Colfax Public Library was recently awarded $5000 from the Scot Miller Family Memorial Fund through the Women’s Giving Circle, a part of the Community Foundation of Dunn County. Lake Altoona Looks to Clean Water
Lake Altoona now has an aqua thruster to try and fight blue green algae. The Lake Altoona District Board says they wanted to try something to keep the lake open more this summer. Blue green algae is deadly for dogs, and can make people sick. The algae closed the lake a couple of times last year. Michele Skinner with the district board says they’re willing to give almost anything a chance. The lake board has installed a couple of the aqua thrusters, with the first one going-in at the edge of the dock. The lake board says it will be a bit before they know if they are working, blue green algae usually comes later in the summer.
