    Controlled buys lead to Eau Claire drug bust

    EAU CLAIRE (WKBT) -- An Eau Claire man is in custody following an investigation by the West Central Drug Task Force.

    According to the criminal complaint, 32-year-old James Shafer sold an informant more than 87 grams of meth over two controlled buys.

    Shafer is charged with two felony counts of delivery of methamphetamine and one count of maintaining a drug trafficking place.

    He's also charged with two counts of felony bail jumping for two open drug cases in Chippewa County.

    Shafer is currently in custody at the Eau Claire County Jail after refusing to sign a $5,000 signature bond with conditions.
