Watch: JD Vance woos voters in Wisconsin, a key swing state

Following a midmorning appearance in neighboring Michigan, GOP candidate for vice president Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) held a whistle-stop rally Wednesday afternoon at the Eau Claire, Wis., airport.

The two states are part of the “Blue Wall” of the North-central U.S. in which Democrats are looking to rebuild support in the run-up to November’s election. When former President Trump announced Vance’s place with him on the Republican ticket at the convention in Milwaukee in mid-July, Wisconsin had looked like it was swinging Republican .

But the change from President Biden to Vice President Harris by Democrats has lessened, erased and even reversed the GOP lead in polling in the big seven swing states.
