EBENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Friends, family and community members gathered on Saturday to celebrate the Borough of Ebensburg.

The annual Ebensburg Homecoming, hosted every July, dates back to 1997 when the community celebrated the bicentennial.

“It was really just a celebration of community, friends, family that return for family reunion type of situation,” said Danea Koss, Community Development Director of Ebensburg. “It really stuck. The community loved it.”

Multiple activities were on display, including garage and yard sales scattered throughout. Book sales and food stands are found near Lake Rowena along with a concert on display for the public.

Organizers said the event gives those who left the borough a chance to see it renewed.

“It’s great to come back to your hometown and sort of see how it’s evolved and changed and just to see everything that’s going on,” Koss said. “It’s really an opportunity for everyone to just celebrate their hometown and come together as a community.”
