Detroit-Area Man Armed with Axe and Revolver Fatally Shot in Home Invasion, Stepson Acts in Defense
In a fatal confrontation in Orion Township yesterday morning, a man who aimed to harm his ex-girlfriend was shot and killed by the woman's stepson. According to CBS News Detroit, the encounter happened just after 10 a.m. at a residence on Elkhorn Lake Road. Sheriff Michael Bouchard informed that the stepson acted in defense as Galen Gavitt, 67, broke into the house wielding an axe and a revolver.
