Ector County ISD has announced the theme for this year’s Leadership University: “The Art of Reflection.”

This three-day local conference is dedicated to district administrators, providing them an opportunity to come together, sharpen their leadership skills, and prepare for the start of a new school year.

How do you reflect on your achievements and strive to improve for the future? “The Art of Reflection” will guide our discussions and activities as we consider the past year’s successes and challenges, and how we can enhance our efforts moving forward.

Leadership University 2024 will take place July 22-24, the daily schedule runs between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., with sessions led by ECISD staff and by others from outside the school district. The conference also features guest keynote speakers, who will share their insights and experiences on leadership, education, and the power of reflective practices: Jerry ThompSon III of Simon Sinek’s Optimism Company (Monday, 11:05 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.) and Dr. Pete Gorman, a former superintendent, and current Chief in Residence for Chiefs for Change (Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.). ECISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Muri will moderate a panel discussion at 9:15 a.m. Monday.

The panel includes NBCT Peggy Brookins, President and CEO of NBPTS, Magdalena Mata, NBCT, and Jerry ThompSon III.

The 2024 ECISD Leadership University takes place at Crossroads, 6901 East State Highway 191.
