Lady Tarpons fall to San Perlita Lady Trojans
On Monday, Aug. 12, the Port Isabel Lady Tarpons volleyball team hosted the San Perlita Lady Trojans in the Lady Tarpons season’s opener. The Lady Tarpons got off to a great start in the best-of-five series. In the first set, they jumped up to a 2-0 lead before the Lady Trojans tied the game up at 2-2. Junior Nadia Flaig got a big spike at the net to give the Lady Tarpons a 3-2 lead.

Sharyland ISD breaks ground on 18+ special education facility
Monday morning, Sharyland Independent School District sponsors, staff, and administration broke ground to celebrate the expansion of the district’s STEPS program. In the last few years, special education graduates aged 18-22 at SISD learned life skills in an emulated classroom as part of a post-secondary program, STEPS (Students Transitioning to Employment and Post-Secondary Success).
