OGDEN — A homeowner said he and a neighbor shot two pit bulls in self-defense Monday after the dogs cornered, attacked and charged at them. Dane Wise said the dogs came into his cul-de-sac Monday evening as he was working on his truck in a covered area outside of his home.

CHEYENNE – Cheyenne East graduate Bricen Baktamarian placed third in trap shooting at the National High School Finals Rodeo on Saturday in Rock Springs. Baktamarian hit 196 of the 200 clays he fired his shot gun at, and finished third after a shoot-off with South Dakota’s Jude Sargent. Brandon Heck of Arkansas won the competition by hitting 198. Baktamarian was tied for second after the first go-round by hitting 99 of 100 clays. There were 149 trap shooters entered in the competition. Farmland values in Wyoming have made modest gains over the past six months according to the latest Benchmark Farm Value Trends Report issued by Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) and Frontier Farm Credit. Fire weather watch issued for Casper area
CASPER, Wyo. — Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Riverton issued a fire weather watch for Natrona County. The NWS in Riverton reported in a release that the combination of high temperatures, low humidity, strong winds and possible lightning all combine to create conditions ripe for starting wildfires. Afternoon winds are predicted to gust at speeds of up to 30 mph. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to remain firmly in the 90s for the duration of the watch.
