Laramie’s Neil Summers Commits to UW Basketball Program
Laramie's 6-8 pivot man Neil Summers announced on "X" that he has committed to the Wyoming Cowboy basketball program. He was an All-State selection in 4A for good reason as he averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game as the Plainsmen advanced to the 4A Championship game. Summers poured in 20 points along with 15 rebounds in that title game loss to Cheyenne Central. He was 1st in rebounding in 4A and 5th in scoring with a 31-point and 27-point games against Sheridan plus an 18 rebound performance against Greeley. Colorado.

Gillette library to delay opening Tuesday
GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Public Library branch in Gillette will be closed for several hours on Tuesday, Aug. 27 due to a water shutoff. The water in the Gillette branch’s building will be shut off due to work happening elsewhere in the city that requires the water main to be turned off. Library Executive Director John Jackson said in Monday’s meeting of the Campbell County Library Board that without water or operational restrooms for patrons and staff, the library would be required to close. Council and City of GR discuss future of Killdeer Wetlands

Saturday’s Flaming Gorge drowning victims identified
The names of the two women who drowned in the Swim Beach area of Flaming Gorge Reservoir have been identified as 66-year-old Ramiza Cejvan and her 44-year-old daughter Emina Cejvan. Both were from Sandy, Utah. Cejvan’s body had been missing until it was discovered late this morning by search and rescue divers.
Wolves/Buffalos football game time moved, Tigers open on Friday
The Green River Wolves and Mountain View Buffalos football season will start one hour earlier than originally scheduled. Green River officials have announced that Saturday’s game between the two schools will now begin at 10 a.m., not 11 a.m. The teams kicked off the season last year, with Mountain View gaining a 21-7 win. The Buffalos went on to complete a 10-1 season. Green River is coming off a 1-8 season.
