    Perquimans girls soccer slides by Holmes 4-2

    EDENTON — The Perquimans County High School girls soccer team took on the John A. Holmes Aces on Tuesday afternoon in Edenton and came home with a 4-2 win.

    Anna Fisher scored three goals for the Pirates, tallied one assist and had seven points in the match. She scored the three goals on six shots, with four of the shots on goal.

    Ashlyn Overman scored one goal, had two assists, and tallied four points for Perquimans.

    Ellie Spear scored both goals for the Aces and had four points in the loss. Emma Parrish had one assist and one point as well for the Aces.

    Elizabeth Stottlemyer allowed two goals in the match, while registering 10 saves for the Pirates.

    Ava Bunch allowed four goals while registering nine saves for the Aces.

    The Pirates jumped out to a 3-2 halftime lead, adding one goal in the second half for the 4-2 win.

    Perquimans is now 2-1 on the season and the Aces are 0-1.
