What has for weeks seemed a foregone conclusion was made official Friday night in Edgerton.

The Crimson Tide clinched at least a share of the Rock Valley Rock Division championship — just their second conference championship in program history — with a 69-32 win over Brodhead.

Edgerton (21-1, 13-0 Rock Valley Rock) cruised to a 37-10 lead at halftime, holding the Cardinals to just three field goals in the opening 18 minutes.

Gracee Langer dropped 19 points for the Tide, while Claudia Jenny and Marti Rebman added 13 and 12, respectively.

Addie Yates led Brodhead (14-8, 8-5) with 10 points. The Cardinals bounced back from their loss to Edgerton with a 69-27 win over Monroe on Saturday night. No further information was reported from that game.

If the Tide can beat Beloit Turner on Monday night at Turner High, they will secure the outright title.

Edgerton, ranked No. 8 in the state in Division 3 by WisSports.net, has steamrolled through its conference schedule, winning all 13 Rock Valley games so far by 10 points or more. The Trojans played them the closest so far in a 46-36 result on Dec. 8.

Only two of the Tide’s wins overall have come by less than 10, 53-49 over the Milwaukee Academy of Science on Nov. 27 and 46-45 over Lake Mills on Jan. 30. Their lone loss on the season came against reigning Division 1 state champion Kettle Moraine on Dec. 29.
