    Baseball: Jefferson doubles up Edgerton for 4th straight win

    EDGERTON — Jefferson’s summer baseball team won its fourth straight game with a 6-3 victory at Edgerton on Thursday.

    The Eagles (5-1) scored five times on one hit in the first inning. Bentley Wagner led off the game by drawing a walk and went on to score via error.

    Gavin Berge drove in Cale Schmidt with a ground out to make it 2-0. Berge scored on a double steal play before Nolan Burzlaff and Mason Merz crossed home plate on separate passed balls to cap the rally.

    Braxton Thiede started for Jefferson and earned the victory. He pitched six innings of two-hit ball with seven strikeouts and two walks, surrendering three unearned runs.

    Jefferson hosts McFarland on Monday at 5 p.m.
