    Edgerton Tobacco Heritage Days begins Friday

    EDGERTON — The Edgerton Tobacco Heritage Days festival kicks off Friday, July 19, with a citywide rummage sale and a weekend full of activities and sports games at Racetrack park. Proceeds will benefit local scholarships, groups, causes and community improvements.

    The festival starts off Friday, July 19 with a weekend long citywide rummage sale. At Racetrack Park, 900 Stoughton Road, is a little league tournament at 5:30 p.m., a men’s softball tournament at 6 p.m. and a women’s softball game at 6:30 p.m. with live music by Audiodrive at 7:30 p.m.

    The next, Saturday, July 20, there is a Rascal 5k Run at Racetrack Park at 8 a.m. Young children can also participate in a lip sync and talent show and big wheel race at the park.

    There are softball, baseball and little league tournaments throughout the day. An Edgerton band, Pink Houses, will play music at 5:30 p.m. with country singer Chris Cagle taking the main stage at 9:30 p.m.

    Admission into the park is $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Wristband can be found on sale at Deegan’s Hardware, 1025 N. Main St., the Coffee Depot, 20 S. Main St. and Dam Paradise, 3506 West County Road M.

    The last day, Sunday, July 21, will be the Edgerton Tobacco Heritage Days parade beginning at 11:30 a.m.There will be a pie eating contest and tobacco axe throwing contest for ages 15 and up. Live music will be playing at 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. following a hometown baseball game with the Albion Tigers vs Lake Mills at 2 p.m., followed by Utica vs Cambridge.
