EDGERTON, Wis. -- Wisconsin State Patrol troopers cited a motorcycle driver Wednesday evening who they said was driving over 100 mph above the speed limit.

As part of Speed Awareness Week, troopers were using aircraft to monitor traffic along I-39/90 in southern Dane County. At around 6:05 p.m., a pilot tracked a motorcycle traveling north at 175 mph near mile marker 160 north of Edgerton, well above the 70-mph speed limit.

The pilot followed the motorcycle as it exited the interstate then guided a trooper on the ground to conduct a traffic stop. The driver was cited for reckless driving and speeding.
