DHS’ New Ned Whitesell Field Debuts with Girls Flag Football Thursday, Guys Home Opener Friday
It’s all over but the ribbon cutting and the first two events, and then on into the future. The refurbished, field turf Ned Whitesell Field at Danville High School makes its debut Thursday, with ceremonies beginning at 4:15 for the 4:45 debut of the new DHS Girls Flag Football team, as they host Peoria Richwoods. Former DHS athlete Kedzie Griffin will be doing the honorary coin flip, and some Chicago Bears officials will be thanked for providing uniforms for the new Lady Vikings.

CITY OF NEWTON ‘BOIL WATER ORDER’
(NEWTON) The City of Newton has a “boil water order” currently in effect for the area of Newton affected by yesterday’s water shut off, due to the water line tie-in work concerning the South Van Buren water main project. The “boil order” is in effect until further notice for the area along South Van Buren Street, from the Homewood Grill to Henry Street, and for Martin Street, from South Van Buren to Liberty Avenue. All patience is appreciated.
NOBLE VILLAGE BOARD AUGUST 2024 MEETING RECAP
(NOBLE) The Noble Village Board met in regular session for just over a half hour this past Monday night. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : agreed to continue with the current procedure in placing water meters as close as possible to a Main Water Line after discussion and a request to the Village’s Water Committee : meanwhile, the Water Committee was asked to consider increasing the Village’s flat water rate price due to water connection expenses : discussed the nuisance issue on a property along West North Avenue in Noble : noted that the Village Hall will be closed this coming Monday, September 2nd, for Labor Day : noted the Republic Service trash collection will run as normal next week with no changes : and noted that mosquito spraying in the Village is now being done once a week : the next meeting for the Noble Village Board is September 9th.

Blue Mound employee fired due to 'actions detrimental to the Village'
BLUE MOUND, Ill. (WAND) — A Blue Mound village employee was recently terminated and could possibly have legal action brought against her. The village board voted to terminate Jennifer Prasun at a meeting on July 1st. According to minutes from the meeting, employees and board members were encouraged not to discuss particular issues and were instructed to say that she was terminated due to "Actions detrimental to the Village."
