Established in 2007, the Red Stars were a founding member of the former Women’s Professional Soccer and would later become one of the original eight teams to form the National Women’s Soccer League in 2013. Police Beat for Wednesday, July 24th, 2024
Salem Police have arrested 65-year-old Jerry Russell of Glenwood Acres in Salem for violation of an order of protection and criminal trespass to property. Police say they were initially alerted Russell was in Bryan Memorial Park where he had earlier been banned. They later learned he was within 500 feet of a person with an order of protection against him. Russell was gone by the time police arrived, but he was arrested a short time later in a traffic stop. He was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a final decision on charges.
